Nothing 05:25
Fade to grey, my mind has gone astray. Marauding thoughts don't ease my faith. Nowadays we can see and hear everything; And you know me, I always think to much about nothing. It pays to look, I'm on tenterhooks. For I'm afraid to lose my babe. Nowadays we can see and hear everything; And you know me, I tend to read to much into nothing. So fade to grey, my mind has gone astray. Marauding thoughts won't ease my faith. Nowadays we can see and hear everything; And you know me, I make a big deal out of nothing.

Church music 03:04
I saw lights and sounds, like arrows they caught my heel. I felt warmth that came unexpected as I moved en passant forward. I said grace and bowed respectfully at those who acknowledged me. It gave me faith to be among them, related in the same way. I felt able, I needn't count on you. To the fray, I consumed. I am able, I needn't count on you. To the fray, I consumed.

What's with these times? Corruption and lies, industries built on you being alone. Commerce is rife in sticking in the knife; sex for sale. Philanderers hailed, relationships fail; are we but fools to fall in love? Well I read your signs and stood poised to dive...and I fell in.

about

"This ep was created in 2008 for a Final Year Project whilst studying a Music Production course at college. It was the first time I had created a batch of songs organically without the use of samples and digital effects, and the aim was to create a very natural and spacious sound.
I was 24 when I wrote the songs for this ep and had just entered into my first serious relationship; some of the lyrics reflect this with feelings of jealousy and paranoia ('nothing'), and also an arrogant and disdainful view towards an 'ode to be single' culture ('love in the noughties').
'Church music' is a song referencing an experience had at my first illegal rave...

Much appreciation must go to Tom Lee who played the saxophone solo on 'nothing'. He totally understood what I was after and he is a brilliant and very talented musician." Andrew C Salt, December 2013
